New Born History. The Fusion of Human Body and Machinery in 19th Century.

What is distinguishable about this piece is that the book opens from the left side and all the lines are written horizontally. It is made that way so it can be published internationally. Already it’s out in Korea, Belgium , and France. Moreover, it will be out in Italy, too.

Why is this piece meant to be released overseas?

Is the story or the topic for international market? Is there any secret in the amazing drawing?

The author(Haruhisa Nakata) is known for the strong description skill. It’s picturesque in details.

When I started reading this, I thought this is more of a “graphic novel” than a “comic book”. However, the story is very simple and easy to understand. If you think of it in the frame of “manga”, it’s like a mainstream boy “manga”. A boy who grew up in a difficult condition learns martial arts and starts growing up through his mentor, rivals and the villains. This is exactly a main stream boy “manga”.

Even though the story is so “mainstream” but as I read further I discovered the following elements directed this comic book to international market.

  • The setting, characters and other details are like those of Europe.
  • The setting does not include any Japanese element.
  • The layout looks more like a graphic novel.

I jotted on my thoughts dowm but the story’s just began. Keep an eye on “Levius/est”

About the author

I Love traveling abroad and reading comic books.

Dots turn into the drawing.
The drawing gets connected with the story, becoming a comic book.
The 2-D world goes beyond the borders and generations to reach us, readers.
This is what I would like to accomplish on Asian-port.
